Homework

Marvelous Maths!

Year 2 children are expected and encouraged to practice their 2, 5 and 10 Times Tables on a regular basis to build quick recall of multiplication and division facts. Year 3 children will start with the 2, 5 and 10 Times Tables before progressing onto the 3 and 4 Times Tables later on in the year. Times Tables Rockstars (TT Rockstars!) is a fun and interactive website that we have subscribed to as a school to help children practice their Times Tables. Your child has their own login and account that takes them through a Teacher set schedule of Times Tables practice each week. Each child would have been sent home a letter in their reading records with this information at the beginning of the year. You will need to first log into the school page (Binsted CE Primary School) before your child puts their user name and password in. Please get in touch if you need new login information or support using the website!

Super Spellings!

Please see our seperate spelling tab on Rowan's class page to see a breakdown of our Year 2 and 3 weekly spellings. Children will practice these at school and will also be expected to practice them at home. We will be having a spelling test each week on a Friday morning to see how children are getting on with their spellings. Resources for spelling practice can be found under our spelling tab and a notebook and hard copy of spellings will be sent home during Term 1 for the children to use should they wish to.

Regular Reading!

Regular reading practice is essential in Year 2 and Year 3 to help children develop fluency, confidence and comprehension skills. Therefore at Binsted, we ask children to read to an adult at home, for 10 minutes on a daily basis. Please use your child's reading record to comment on reading done at home and to communicate any other messages to Miss Darby and Miss Hart and we will get back to you.

Thank you for your support with your child's learning at home!
