Religious Education
In EYFS, Religious Education is rooted in our Christian vision and school values of LOVE, HOPE, and FAITH. We provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to explore the world around them, develop curiosity, and begin to understand and respect different beliefs, cultures, and traditions.
Through stories, celebrations, play, discussion, and first-hand experiences, children learn about Christianity as well as other world religions, including Islam and Hinduism. We encourage children to reflect on what is special and meaningful to themselves and others, helping them to recognise that everyone is unique and valued.
RE in EYFS promotes awe and wonder, giving children opportunities to explore the beauty of the world, ask questions, and develop a sense of belonging. We learn more about the world around us through 'reflective learning moments'. Window moments help children learn about others; mirror moments help children learn about themselves; door moments encourage children to explore ideas more deeply; and candle moments provide opportunities for reflection, awe, and wonder. Together, they support children's personal, social, cultural, and spiritual development within the EYFS environment.
By celebrating diversity and encouraging kindness, respect, and empathy, we help children grow as confident, compassionate individuals who live out our values of love, hope, and faith every day.
