Young Voices 2019

Friday 1st February 2019.

Despite various obstacles testing our resilience such as snow, transport issues and short train platforms, we all got the 10.44 from Alton heading to Waterloo. The Jubilee Line tube proved hassle -free and we arrived at the O2 Arena in time for lunch and the all-important toilet queues!

A great rehearsal was had by all and some staff members were very excited at the prospect of Tony Hadley making his appearance! Tea was had in our seats in the arena and then it was time to prepare ourselves for the performance at 7 pm.

I should add that during all this, staff were receiving messages about the ever impending snow situation back home!  The concert was fabulous and we all enjoyed ourselves and literally sung our voices off! The O2 with over 6000 children and at least double that in parents; what a spectacle!

The journey home was relaxed and gave everyone the chance to ponder the day's events. When arriving in Alton we had expected to see metre-high drifts !...but it meant that we could all get home safely and if you were like me, have the songs ear-worming their way around my head!

Thank you to children and teachers for making it a lovely occasion to remember. surprise
