Summer 1:
This half term we will be learning about the Artists Warhol and Moore. We will be crating our Pop Art pictures in the style of Warhol and using tools and equipment correctly to shape and model the material clay to create our own sculptures.

Spring 2:
This half term we will be learning about templates and joining techniques. The children will design a hand puppet. They will make a template and then use joining techniques to make it and decorate or embellish it. They will then evaluate their finished puppet.
Art
Spring 1:
This half term we will be learning about Artist Pablo Picasso. We will be looking at drawing, focussing on line and tone. We will be creating our own colourful portraits in the style of Pablo Picasso.

Autumn 2:
This half term we will learn about where a range of fruit and vegetables come from e.g. farmed or grown at home. We will be exploring the basic principles of a healthy and varied diet.
Children will design an appealing product based on simple design criteria, they will generate initial ideas and design criteria through investigating a variety of fruit and vegetables and communicate these ideas through talk and drawings.
Once their product is designed, the children will use simple utensils and equipment to make it by using skills such as: peeling, cutting, slicing, squeezing, grating and chopping safely. Once eaten, the children will evaluate the finished products against design criteria, including intended user and purpose.

Autumn 1:
This half term we will learn about the Earth Artist Andy Goldsworthy. We will be evaluating his work and creating our own.
If you are interested in Andy Goldsworthy, there are many videos on YouTube to watch and tutorials on how to use nature to create art in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.

We will then be moving onto the skill of weaving. There are many tutorials on YouTube to teach children how to weave using a range of materials, from paper strips, to straws, paper plates, natural materials and fabrics.
