BINSTED SCHOOL READING CHALLENGE

Thank you to all of the children and families who took part in the reading challenge, 28 children took part completing 248 challenges between them.

We have raised £1,100! A huge achievement and we will be able to buy much needed books for the classes.

Congratulations to our class winners: 

A ‘lucky dip’ prize has been awarded to Gyan in Oak Class whose name was drawn at random.

All children who took part in the challenge received a certificate and, for those who were not among the randomly drawn prize winners, a small token.

Friday 27th May 2022 - Binsted School celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in Style!

The sun shone, tea & cakes were enjoyed and the staff, children and FOBS committee pulled out all the stops to enjoy this historical celebration in style!

Each class had prepared a musical extravaganza for the guests with the children performing hits from The Beatles & Queen, not forgetting a lively rendition of the 'Macarana' and a special edition from year R & 1 of 'Who Let the Dogs Out'!.

The children had also been busy decorating their classrooms to represent the 7 decades that the Queen's reign has spanned. The school hall had been made into a museum of fascinating artefacts from the last 70 years.

Over 100 guests made up of school families, friends and members of the local community were treated to delicious cakes, sandwiches and drinks to make it into a real party!
