After School Club

Hello and welcome to our After School Club page,

We are a friendly After School Club that provides child care from 3.30pm until 5.30pm (available in bookable time slots) for all Year groups. These should be booked on line via Scopay 24 hours in advance. Booking in advance enables us to create activities to suit the interests of the children, giving them choices whilst also giving them the opportunity to ‘chill-out’ after a productive day in school, and it allows the After School Club team to schedule the timetable accordingly.

When a child first comes to the club we invite them to fill in an 'All about me!' sheet, so that we can then review what their interests are, this then helps us to find games and activities that they may like to participate with, independently or with friends. A variety of board games, arts & crafts, STEM activities are available, for ‘free-play’, and the children are encouraged to spend time playing outside (when weather permits), in-addition there is often 'an activity or theme of the day', which they can opt to join in with.

In the past these have included: K'nex & Lego Challenges Word Games Afternoon Number Night Making and creating using dough/clay, Grow your own - vegetables and more, Nature Hunters, Spy Night - solving clues around the school Treasure Time - Pirates, Making Bird Fat Feeders, Minecraft camps & den, Up in the air - paper aeroplanes, kites, and bubbles, Movie & Popcorn nights, and Biscuit & Cupcake making.

A typical club session:

Children are dismissed from class by their class teacher and arrive to the Club (based in the school Hall). On arrival they leave their school bags and belongings by the club entrance, get their water-bottles out and can then go and choose what they would like to do. When all club members have arrived, a snack is offered to all children. There is always fruit available throughout the session and the children are able to fill up their water bottles.

What we ask

When you arrive to collect your child, we invite you to ring the After School Club bell - by main door and wait outside. The club team have a record of who is scheduled to leave at each time slot time - and we therefore try and ensure that they have tidied their activities away, got their belongings before being escorted to the main school entrance for collection (this may take a few minutes). We request that you collect as promptly as possible, so that we can ensure smooth transitions.
