Summer 2: The Wright Brothers

We will learn about two very famous brothers, the Wright brothers. The invention of the airplane by brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright is one of the great stories in world history. They not only solved a problem people had been trying to solve for hundreds of years, by their sheer determination and skill they also helped create an entirely new world. It is difficult to imagine a world without flight, but man has only flown in planes for less than 125 years.

Spring 2: The lives of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole

We will learn about two very famous nurses and how they changed the history of nursing and helped to make it the amazing profession it is today.

Many children love learning about these two famous historical ladies and there is a wealth of information in library books and on the internet and you can even go to the Florence Nightingale Museum in London and whilst there, see the statue of Mary Seacole.
