Alton Eco Conference

The children had a great day at Alton Eco conference and they had the opportunity to experience lots of different workshops all related to reducing ocean plastic and looking after our rivers and oceans.

World Refill Day

We are were delighted to be invited to the launch of the new Refill Station at Binsted Rec for World Refill Day. Emily, our poster competition winner joined us too.

Tree Planting

We planted our tree saplings during Eco Club this week. It was an exceedingly hot day but it was great spending time outdoors.

Our new eco club is up and running. We are all very excited to make our school more environmentally friendly. We have some exciting things planned. We will be designing and building our own bug hotels to go in the school grounds. We also have three tree saplings to plant, wild flower seeds to sow and composting ideas to discus. The children are excited to get going on our Eco schools award next academic year.

Composting

At Binsted we are keen to make our school more environmentally friendly. We have introduced a new food waste bin which will be collected regularly to be turned into compost. Eco club are also introducing a new compost bin so we can compost our compostable packaging and also are fruit peelings and banana skins to use in the school grounds. Eco club will be responsible for emptying into the compost bin and will be designing posters for use around the school to encourage use of the bins.

Binsted Eco Club Poster Competition

Eco club are excited to launch our first poster competition. On the 16th June it is World Refill day to coincide with the launch of the new Binsted water bottle refill point at Binsted Recreation Ground. Binsted Eco Club want you to design a poster to increase awareness of the cause and show why it is important to use the refill point.
